Die Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences hat sich bei der Verteidigung ihrer Marken vor dem Schiedsgericht der World Intellectual Property Organization WIPO durchgesetzt.
Im Schiedsverfahren um die Domain academyawards.net konnte die Academy auf Basis ihrer internationalen Markenrechte an der Bezeichnung ACADEMY AWARDS die Übertragung der Domain erwirken.
Die Academy Awards auch bekannt als Oscar werden alljährlich für herausragende Leistungen in der Filmindustrie vergeben.
