Google Base – Markenproblem?
Derzeit ranken sich immer wieder Gerüchte um Pläne für einen neuen Google Dienst namens Base.

Sollte Google mit diesem Namen in Europa auftreten, könnte es mal wieder, wie bei Gmail, markenrechtliche Probleme geben.
Die Wortmarke BASE ist in der gesamten EU und der Schweiz als Internationale Registrierung eingetragen.
In den Nizzaklassen 09, 38 und 42 werden folgende Waren und Dienstleistungen beansprucht:
Goods and Services:
of sound, vision and data; data processing apparatus and computers;
electronic, magnetic and optical images, sound and data carriers;
telecommunication networks; software.
to computer databanks including websites/homepages of others
(telecommunication services).
programming; providing a software for processing, storing, recall of
information via computerized systems.
Markeninhaber ist die Koninklijke KPN N V aus den Niederlanden.
Unter Berücksichtigung der jüngsten Entscheidung des EuGH in der Rechtssache Medion ./. Thomson Life (C-120/04), ist die Position von Google Base in Europa eher wackelig.
